The generally accepted definition of “protest” is a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something. Under the pretense of “protesting” their college endowments funds investing in Israel or military armament companies, the nation is witnessing protests at various campuses across America. While these “protests” are clearly professionally organized and funded, they are not expressing a disapproval of something, rather they are promoting the idea of genocide.
The Palestinian movement claims to be seeking a cease fire and peace, but the “protests” belie that message. They chant “From the River to the Sea” or “Free Palestine”. These are veiled calls for genocide. “From the River to the Sea” is a euphemism for eliminating all the Jews living in the region. Much like the Muslim Turks killed over a million Christians a hundred years ago in Armenia.
“Free Palestine” is an oxymoron. Palestine is a free state. Has been since 1948. But the Palestinians do not want to live peacefully with Israel. They want it all. There have been several wars of extermination against Israel and each time the Palestinians lose. Not desiring peace, Hamas, leaders of Gaza’s Palestinians, launch terrorists attacks on Israel last Oct 7th killing over 1200 people and taking hundreds hostage.
Israel responded in force as is their right to self defense. The Arab world failed to rally to Hamas in its war with Israel. Hamas leadership’s only hope is to rally support around the world to pressure Israel into a ceasefire, yet Hamas still holds dozens of hostages.
What better way to increase the pressure than to enlist the useful idiots who attend out universities. Many of them don’t have a clue about Middle East history. They don’t realize that Hamas could end the war tomorrow by unconditional surrender. But this would mean the imprisonment of Hamas’ leadership. Instead, Hamas’ leadership prefers to sacrifice its citizens to continue the war. Many are clueless about the issues behind the protests.
Am I a hypocrite because my generation protested the Vietnam War? No, big difference. 50,000 Americans died in Vietnam. We were being drafted to go fight and die in a corporate war half way around the world. We were directly affected by the war our nation was fighting.
Does this mean we should not be sympathetic to the plights of others around the world? No. But we should be informed and let knowledge guide our actions. These ignorant students just want be a part of something to virtual signal.
The simplest solution to ending the protests is to:
Cordon of the encampments. No food or water allowed in.
Expel the students involved as they exit the encampments.
Arrest non-students.
Greg right on!!!!!
